What to Expect at Your First Visit

Start with your questions, understand your options and discuss costs before care.

Your consultation and questions about cost

Our free consultation is a conversation about your concerns and whether our approach may be a good fit. Before scheduling an examination or treatment, ask which services have a fee. A free consultation should not be taken to mean a free examination, imaging, adjustment or massage.

Ask the team to explain expected charges, any current new-patient offer and the services it covers. Insurance benefit information is not a guarantee of payment; your policy, eligibility and remaining benefits matter. Review our insurance and billing information or ask about PIP after a car accident.

What to bring to your first visit

  • Photo ID and insurance information.
  • A list of symptoms, when they started and what makes them better or worse.
  • Your medications and supplements.
  • Existing imaging reports or relevant recommendations from other providers.
  • For an accident-related visit, your claim number if available.

Evaluation comes before treatment decisions

Your provider will discuss your history, concerns and goals. An examination helps guide recommendations, including whether further medical evaluation is appropriate. If care here is suitable, we explain the options and discuss a plan with you. Same-day treatment depends on your findings and availability.

You can ask about benefits, risks, alternatives and expected costs before agreeing to care. Let your provider know about any discomfort during treatment. A gentle approach does not mean that every technique is suitable for every person or that soreness cannot occur.

If your visit follows an injury

Tell us what happened, when symptoms began and whether you have already received care. Bring any reports you have. We document the evaluation and treatment provided here. For more about accident visits and billing questions, see car accident care. For a work-related concern, see work injury care.

Choose your clinic and request a time

Visit our Vancouver, WA clinic or Gresham, OR clinic. Hours are 8am–9pm daily by appointment. Sending a request does not reserve a time; the clinic will contact you to confirm availability.
